Wisper
Everything we do can now be documented, video cameras, mobile phones, CCTV’s, etc., can record our every move. It gives us the advantage of having on-hand data of our accounts, especially when we needed it the most. But is it enough to prove a man’s guilt or innocence from a crime he is suspected to have a link to? Well, if you are a fan of murder mystery movies, then you wouldn’t want to miss out on this film I am about to share today. We will follow a man named Josiah Wisper in this experimental murder mystery feature by Russ Emanuel titled “Wisper”
Wealth, success, fame, and respect. Who wouldn’t want to have this kind of life? But in the case of a man named Josiah Wisper, this is how his world revolves, keeping everything flowing every day, running his businesses, and providing the needs of his family. But is it all who Josiah Wisper is? A man who opted to be followed by a camera, and has his every move recorded may seem a little too much for a businessman. Is he trying to prove something, or is he preparing for an alibi? This experimental film let us follow Josiah’s every move until a faithful day of a happy celebration turned into a nightmare of horror for the rest of his life. His wife, two daughters, and son murdered at their home, without a clue for anyone with motives, which leaves him, Josiah Wisper, a person of interest of the crime. Is there something more about Josiah off the record? Do his affairs have to do something with this unfortunate crime? And how can he save himself when everyone around him thinks he is the prime suspect. Will his recordings salvage him from being convicted? Those were the questions I had in my mind while watching this tasteful experimental crime thriller. And I can’t just take my eyes away from watching this even for a second, because I know I will get an answer with every scene. Watching this fulfilled my thirst for an exciting and fresh take on murder mysteries, and I am beyond satisfied.
I am utterly impressed with this feature film. Director Russ Emanuel and his team delivered a marvelous movie worthy of recognition. Quality-wise was perfect, and the cast gave flair with every character that they portrayed. Also, this review wouldn’t be complete without highlighting the prominent performance of Christian Barber as Josiah Whisper. He gave such unique and mysterious personification to his character that it gave me a hard time seeing through the truth behind the murder. Lastly, given its well thought out and thrilling story, I am commending this film’s natural delivery even though it is experimental, and like reality tv, it didn’t lose the energy of a murder mystery film. The mind baffling suspense is still there as well as the juicy drama that fuels the story. This film currently sits at the top of my murder mystery list this season, and I highly recommend you watching this too as soon as it becomes available! Cheers for this outstanding film and the amazing people who made this movie possible!
