NOC- Non-Official Cover
Being an actor is a challenging career path. It may look easy on t.v and in movies, but it is never a walk in the park. Some may have the looks, but not the talent, while others, the other way around. There are those fortunate ones that have both, but still doesn’t guarantee that spotlight. And with plenty of competitions along the way. From one casting call to another, there is always that 99 percent uncertainty of getting the part and 1 percent of luck. But how does one recognize that an actor fits the role? Is it when he puts his personal touch on the character? Or is it when he understands the character and does exactly what he is told? Either way, one actor is about to change the course of his acting career to a whole kind of level in the very exciting drama-comedy “NOV/ Non-Official Cover’ by Ian Voglesong.
The story of “NOC/ Non-Official Cover” is about an actor by the name of Richard “Richie” Jones. Richie has a regular job as a waiter, but acting is his passion. For ten years, he has been chasing his dreams and trying to get that break in the industry. However, luck hasn’t been on Richie’s side. From one casting call to another. From limited and unrecognizable screen appearance to rejection, still, Richie never loses his hope. He believes that one day, someone will see the potential in his acting and proclaim the star he is destined to be. And it seemed that his luck is about to turn when two agents approached him and proposed their interest in his acting skills. Astounded with the offer, Richie felt the surrealness of the situation and questioned the agents of their reason why they chose him.
Persuaded by praises for his talent in acting, Richie seized the opportunity and agreed to appear on a special gig for him the next day. However, little did Richie know of the clauses of what he was getting into. The technicalities of his so-called “gig” and how he is about to apply his acting skills with every situation given to him. Will Richie still have the guts to continue his dreams in acting? And Is he ready to level up his skills to a different level? That is the part you have to find out. And I assure you that it will be an awesome mixture of suspense, excitement, drama, and comedy that you will have a great time watching.
Lastly, Ian Voglesong’s short dramedy “NOC” or “Non-Official Cover is extremely good. I am a fan. I loved it. And I want more! It is the kind of series I will undoubtedly anticipate weekly for a new episode. It was fun to watch, exciting, original, unpredictable, and most of all hilarious. Great work to this awesome director and of course, to its fantastic lead actor Joel Brady for such an amazing and effortless performance as Richie. I sure don’t have any reason to wait for the release of the next Bond movie, because I have NOC to anticipate on my watch!
