Film Speed Networking – RECAP
Each person had 1 minute to talk about themself and the person across from them also had a minute. It would take people about 30 seconds to move from seat to seat. For 100 people to meet each other it would take 250 minutes or a little more than 4 hours.
.
People who came with business cards to hand out were able to hand out many!
.
People who came with QR code for people to scan in like Popl were able to share more their contact info and portfolio faster.
.
I kicked myself for not having either of these.
.
Many young filmmakers attended and met seasoned filmmakers in all fields.
.
10 filmmakers with fully funded films were looking to fill cast and crew positions at this event.
.
4 filmmakers were in the fund raising phase of production.
.
7 people from the event I would hire simply from our 2 minute conversation.
.
It was nice to have time after the event for people to continue their conversations in the lobby.
.
Most common professions from the people I met: actor, cinematographer, producer, editor, script writer, grip, PA, director.
.

From the huge response, we need to do these A LOT more often. Our industry is craving opportunities to connect.
