Paul Cartwright
Paul Cartwright grew up an impressionist and a mimic and performed on stage for most of his life until he went to the Royal Conservatoire in England to study Acting: The British Tradition. Training in England, Paul worked with the best voice coaches in the world—the late Cicely Berry, Barbara Houseman, Stephen Simms and more. He worked with the coaches of the Royal Shakespeare Company and learned how to use his voice as a well-crafted tool to produce emotion, entertainment, and honesty.
Once Paul moved to Los Angeles he began working full-time as a professional voice actor. Paul worked with Disney Animation, Nintendo, Toyota, Mercedes Benz, EPIC games, Facebook, Microsoft, Chilis and more. He has voiced video game and animated TV characters, narrated corporate videos and training sessions, described products and services through e-learning, and hosted live events as the comedian, lead singer, and master of ceremonies. The one word most used to describe Paul’s talents is versatile.
What are some of the projects you have worked on in the last 12 months?
In the past 12 months I’ve worked on some hilarious commercials and two amazing features including TC Christensens Raising the Bar. I have also been heavily involved working both in front of the camera and behind on a handful of Short Films.
Who is your favorite person on set?
My favorite person on any set is the DP and the Key Grip. They always have the best stories. On an ACTUAL set was being directed by George Clooney
What project have you worked on that made you a better professional?
Working on TC Christensen’s film taught me a great deal about being more professional when we had done a few takes and the director asked if I could cry in the next take. It was time to go to work.
What advice do you have for your fellow actors or for people interested in pursuing acting as a career?
For fellow actors or other people interested in pursuing acting, remember this: script analysis is your best friend when it comes to booking a role. Learning how to understand, navigate, decipher, and prepare a character from a short audition script will set you apart from others.
