What are some of the projects you have worked on in the last 12 months?
In film I have worked on Renaissance Kid, ALGEA, Limbo, Sherlock the Musical, Compassion Spreads Like Wildfire, Christmas in Wonderland, Freelancers Season 2 and Langley, and some excellent short film projects : Sound Check, Sock It To ‘Em, Osaru Chan, Flipping and am presently working on two projects in October.
In theatre I performed as Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest, Miss Marple in A Murder is Announced, and Sophie in Star Spangled Girl.
I also have had a lot of fun on set for some commercial work over the last year, and done work as a model and musician. I am currently building my skills in VO as well – hoping to do more of that this year. Huge shout outs and thanks to the production teams and friends I have connected with and worked with over the last year.
Who is your favorite person on set?
This is a very hard question for me because I genuinely love to connect and build friendships with other artists wherever I am, especially on set!
My favorite person on any given set is anyone who is participating in their craft and their art and also working to make that art have resonance and impact. I have such immense love and gratitude for everyone working on a project and love the fact that we can come together and really create something meaningful and powerful and fulfilling.
What project have you worked on that made you a better professional?
I think every single project I have worked on has been at the right time and for the right reasons. I think I continue to grow as a person and artist in each creative endeavor, and I develop my skills in the industry each time I am on set. The bigger the set, the more people and moving pieces, so I am always thankful when I land on a set that helps to expand my knowledge of the industry. I believe Christmas in Wonderland taught me new things this last year, as do commercial sets on a regular basis.
What advice do you have for your fellow actors or for people interested in pursuing acting as a career?
I love to talk about pursuing your passion as an artist, so I will work on keeping this brief haha.
The first thing I advise is to have a full life that brings you joy and fulfillment outside of your art so that your art can continue to be a powerful and incredible part of your life. The last few years have really reinforced that it is the people we love and those that see us and hold space for us exactly as we are that make the difference. You deserve to be seen, valued and understood fully in your art and in your life.
Second is that there is room for you. There is room for all of us to create and to tell the stories we are hoping to share with each other and the world. Your magic is needed and important!
