I’ll Be Right Back places me in the middle of a quiet camping trip that turns tense fast. A father and his daughter hear a stranger crying for help in the woods, and the choice they face feels simple at first. The film lets that moment stretch, building dread as the forest presses in and the situation slips out of control. Seeing the story unfold through the daughter’s point of view makes every step feel risky and real.

What stayed with me most is how the film uses sound and darkness to do the work. The forest feels alive. Every noise matters. The radio from the daughter’s perspective adds urgency and pulls me closer to her fear. Inside the tent, the lighting feels safe, but just beyond it is a wall of black that never lets up. The pacing stays tight, and the tension keeps rising without needing anything extra.

The performances ground the story, especially the young actor, who carries the emotional weight of the film. I felt the conflict between trust and fear, and the way authority can fail when it matters most. I’ll Be Right Back is a clean, focused horror short that understands restraint. It tells a simple story, tells it clearly, and leaves me thinking about the cost of one decision made in the dark.
