“A Perfect Fit” Brings UIFF Alumni Together in Magical Short Film
HELPER, UT – The whimsical short film A Perfect Fit, featuring Elijah Amodt and Charla Bocchicchio, is set to captivate audiences at the Carbon Shortcuts Filmmaking Challenge, part of the Helper Arts Festival on August 15–16, with free public screenings at the historic Rio Theater.
This lighthearted tale centers on a man who wanders into a jewelry shop, only to discover that every ring in the store has the magical power to transform him into anyone—or anything—he can imagine.
What makes this production especially meaningful is that the majority of the cast and crew are proud alumni of the Utah International Film Festival (UIFF). UIFF is renowned for fostering emerging filmmakers through screenings, workshops, and industry connections—a reputation that aligns perfectly with the spirit of A Perfect Fit.
Filmed on location at the Manly Bands retail store in Vineyard, Utah, the production brought together Utah’s local filmmaking community to create something charming, playful, and universally enjoyable.
Director Warren Workman shared his enthusiasm:
“This was a lot of fun to make with some great local talents. Everyone donated their time and talent to make something cute and fun that even my mom would like—and mean it!”
By leaning on involvement from UIFF alumni, A Perfect Fit reflects the community-driven ethos of independent filmmaking in Utah. The film illustrates how creative collaboration—rooted in local festivals like UIFF—can lead to magical results.
