Ainhoa is a brilliant short film about a young girl who went out to the world to look for the person that caused her father’s death. It was very creative, unique, and flawless. You will be intrigued by what will happen next. This short film has drama, suspense, social relevance, and unpredictability. The film also has a strong significance to what happened to Spain’s unfair mortgage issues that happened two years ago. The events and cause of actions are very real, how lives of people got shattered because of losing their home and along with it their loved ones who can’t bear the difficulty of the situation. This film enables us to see the perspective of the innocent young people who got tangled in this situation, an innocent young girl like Ainhoa, who set of on a journey to avenge the death of her father.
The story of Ainhoa is about a family who is about to lose their home because they are not able to pay their mortgage. Her father unemployed for over a year and her mother who knows no other way to make a living are on the edge of being forced to vacate their house. This took the toll on her father’s sanity and committed suicide. With all of this happening, Ainhoa was silently observing what is happening around her, until one day she went out on her own, on a journey to avenge her father’s death. On the path to her destination, she encounters homeless people living in the park where she also settled for the night.
Ainhoa showed us the reality of life and this film delivered us a very clear message of the effects of these unfortunate events, especially to the children. The director presented a film that can help bring a greater cause to the people affected by this kind of situation. Their concept of having a little girl to be the main character was very clever because the innocence, fragility, and purity of the little girl’s demeanor gave the movie a huge factor in its unpredictability. Ainhoa’s character was very strong and the young actress who portrayed her was fantastic. The supporting actors were also amazing, they truly exhibit genuine emotions that made every dramatic scene relatable and realistic. They have also exhibited a certain level of expertise in the field of acting, the drama was truly captivating and you can feel the emotional connection to their characters.
To sum it all up, Ainhoa is absolutely brilliant, it was meticulously crafted with passion and expertise. The whole film is a piece of art that can definitely standout. The cinematography, storyline, portrayal of actors, editing, lighting, locations, and visual effects are truly superb. They have captured the beauty of the surroundings of every location in the movie. The highlight of the movie was in the ending part where Ainhoa had accomplished her mission. That scene was the ultimate game changer of the movie.
