American Fork, UT (September 3, 2023) – Eight short films, all made in less than 30 days, had their world premiere last night at the Town Hub in American Fork. The films, which were created by local filmmakers, were met with a large and enthusiastic audience, who cheered on the filmmakers and selected the winners of the night.

The winning films were:

  • The Seance (Cinematography, Ensemble Cast, Supporting Actress)
  • Hostile Home Environment (Sound, Editing, Actress, Use of Prop)
  • Love Ya Bro (Actor, Supporting Actor, Director, Film)

The event was organized by the Utah International Film Festival, a local festival dedicated to celebrating films and building the indie film community. The festival’s goal is to provide a platform for local filmmakers to showcase their work and to connect with audiences.

“We were thrilled with the turnout for the filmmaking challenge,” said Dora Workman, the festival’s director. “It was clear that the audience was really engaged with the films, and we were proud to showcase the talent of our local filmmakers.”

The Utah International Film Festival continues to hold monthly community events with the main festival taking place annually in February.
