Imagination
This short film is about a filmmaker who is going crazy over a deadline and can’t seem to organize his thoughts to decide what things shall he include or exclude for his project. He would blabber things to himself and imagine random scenarios that he thinks would be best for the film he wants to create. And those imagined scenarios become so disorganized that his film have turned out to be of an entirely different genre than what he originally wanted. In the end, though, he composes himself and organizes his thoughts.
This is a really cute short film with cute humour showing how a person crams and goes crazy for a few minutes when doing or making something really important. I was able to relate with this film in that aspect. I remembered how, in college, I’ve told myself a thousand times that I might go crazy over an upcoming test or a seemingly impossible deadline for paper works. This also reminded me of how, as an adult, I’ve crammed about reports that I need to submit or a document needed for a meeting that I haven’t finished yet. But most importantly, I was able to relate with the fact that a significant number of cups of coffee is needed just to finish something major. I also laughed at the part when he revealed that the protagonist was actually brainstorming with his assistant and not losing his mind. It is a really funny short film.
The screenplay and the music score are nice. It showed very important elements that contribute well to the goal of the film. The main actor and the supporting cast were able to do well with the fast dialogue and sequence of the movie. The editing of visual and sound effects are generally smooth. So, overall, the film is a really nice source of good vibes. Thus, I want to applaud the writer and the director for this awesome work of art.
What’s even amazing, though, is how the movie was able to convey significant moral lessons in a very short time. That is- we need to keep going even when things are being difficult. These difficulties that we face are not there to stop us but to make us learn some important lessons to prepare us for that dream. We just need to re-organize our priorities or do the extra work and go the extra mile if we want to keep pursuing our passion and dreams.
This film reminds us, too, that we need to always check the facts. Maybe being judgmental is something that we can’t help ourselves- that when a judgmental thought pops in our minds, we can’t just “un-think” it. But most of the time, if not always, what’s important is how we act on that thought and how we accept in ourselves that no matter how powerful our brain is, it definitely doesn’t know everything. It’s awesome to be creative, but this does not mean that we can always trust our imagination, especially when it comes to our relationships with other people.
