Krushan Naik – Filmmaker
FilmFreeway should have an option for adding bonus stars!
If you think you’ve seen it all but still wish to be mesmerized, you come to UFF! If you are an experienced/celebrated filmmaker but still wish to learn and grow, you come to UFF! If you are an orator and still want to experience speechlessness, you come to UFF! If you are associated with the world of filmmaking in any capacity, you should come to UFF!
No skillful writing is enough to consolidate my time at UFF, but as a filmmaker on my “nervciting” (nervous+exciting) journey, I can only say that I experienced the life-coming-full-circle moment and was liberated. Yes, I’m still processing it!
Thank you for the opportunity, accolades, friendship, love, and warmth. I cannot wait to be a part of UFF again!

Krushan Naik is an award-winning Filmmaker and Editor pursuing an MFA in Film & TV Production at the School of Film and Television, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Coming from India, he brings an extensive seven-year-long experience in the Advertising World as a sole successful proprietor of his Advertising Agency, working with Bollywood celebrities, industry-leading photographers, and the best of the film and fashion industry artists. Also, bit by the Editing bug, he loves the art of putting together hours of footage and building a world that lures and teleports the audience through amazing audio-visuals.
His first-ever film was an animated short, nominated for the Viewers Choice Awards at the 24 FPS International Animation Awards 2012, Mumbai. His latest film, Resurgence, has premiered at multiple film festivals, including the Oscar®/Academy Award® qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival.
Krushan is fascinated by stories that lead to a resolution/purpose or a hopeful future and not only emphasize a setback. His belief that films should profoundly impact the audience pushes him to achieve that goal; His search for stories commences with an end goal: purposeful resolution! Along with the entertaining aspect, through his stories, he wants his audience to go through an experience that is nothing less than thought-provoking, eye-opening, emotionally moving, spiritually enhancing, mind-bending, and psychologically introspecting. His work is an excellent example for someone who wishes to fight their biggest enemy: Themselves! Because if we are all being honest, most of the time, it is our counter ego—no matter what the struggle story is—that stands between us and what we desire to do/be.
He endlessly derives inspiration from shows and films like Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV show, NOT the film), Inception, Free Solo, Spotlight, and so on. Each harbor a unique fusion: Avatar combines entertainment with spirituality and life lessons; Inception connects intense mind-bending storytelling with dreams; Free Solo fuses real-life achievements and movies in their highest form; Spotlight is a flawless amalgamation of films and factual injustice/abuse, and its incredible influence and consequence on the society. Such fusion of different life subjects creates a never seen outcome through the medium of movies, which fascinates and encourages him to continue creating.
Krushan believes that we, sentient beings, are capable of feeling certain universal truths/life elements like love, pain, suffering, passion, isolation, kindness, empathy, and so on, at varying lengths based on our experiences and circumstances. These universal truths transcend all age, race, caste, nation, and cultural boundaries. They are non-sectarian! Their effects are inevitably felt deep within, maybe at varying intensity, but indeed felt by the soul because we all emanate from the same tenets of the universe. And the focus of his work is always to explore such aspects of life. His latest film, Resurgence, revolves around the above-discussed ideologies.
