Mason and Jay Save The World
Do you sometimes reminisce about how fun your childhood was? When life used to be without a care in the world, and you just let your imagination take over? Pure happiness right? And it brings such joy to the heart looking back at those days, especially if you got kids to share it with. Aside from the outdoor adventures and how we let our imagination run wild indoors, there were these special factors that helped us get by the ‘phase’ of being a kid. Other than the people we share the experience with, there was the ever amazing television where we get to watch awesome series that shares the fun and crazy world of being a kid. Well, to share with you my dear readers, and I know this will severely reveal my age, growing up, I was lucky enough to have Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, Drake and Josh and a little of the Suite Life of Zach and Cody on t.v. These series not only served as a guide of the childhood 101’s but more of a memorable mark of a timeline in our life. However, with so much going on today, where kids are exposed with too much technology and media platforms, kids are missing this simple yet very memorable part of childhood, that is why my heart was ecstatic and pleased upon finding out an awesome short/series that my kids will unquestionably love titled “Mason and Jay Save The World! Episode 1: A Drone Story” A film written and directed by John Woosley.
“Mason and Jay Save The World” is an entertaining short about two brothers, portrayed by rising stars Ethan Wood and Sean Ruddy, being the young boys that they are, curious, inquisitive, adventurous and making the most of the time that they have with their father’s drone. Little did they know, they are about to uncover more than just the facade of the neighborhood from above, but what lies in their own backyard when no one is looking.
This is a pretty cool short film, and mine and my sons’ fingers are crossed hoping it’d be a web or t.v series because we are already anticipating for the next episode. It is no secret that my boys are loving every second of it on how focused they are on watching and their enthusiasm about the development of the story. I have never seen them so eager in finding out what’s going to happen next about a film.
And from a parent’s point of view, I’d say that I highly recommend this film not just because my kids are crazy about it, but because of its promising content, excellent filming quality, and spectacular cast. It gained plus points on creativity both on set and story-wise. I also appreciate that even though it is in the sci-fi genre, it is not that complicated for young viewers to understand. Director John Woosley, yet again, impresses me after his lovely short Alex and the Firefly. I bet I’d be seeing and hearing more from this very talented director. Cheers to this short film!
