Popcorn & Chocolate
Popcorn and Chocolate is an amazing feel-good movie about life and death. This short film is tear-jerking, inspiring, and most of all uplifting to weary souls. It had very funny moments and I’m sure anyone who is watching will definitely enjoy every bit of this film. This film also honors our heroes that serve in the military and how a young girl touches the lives of two elderly people who just lost their son in during his service in Afghanistan. This film translates the lives of the families’ of our fellow countrymen serving in the military.
This film pays tribute to the men and women that risk their lives fighting for something that they believe has a greater cause. It showed the true situations of the families left behind by these military men and women. Their dedication and patriotism to serve and fulfill their duty to our country in order to give us the freedom that we have today is possible because of their selflessness and sacrifice. They give up time and freedom to spend with their family even though they don’t know what is out there for them or if they are ever going back to their family.
Popcorn and Chocolates is very heartwarming film, it exemplified how small and unintended ways can make others happy because you can never know how much you impact you can influence on a person’s life, especially when they need it the most. This film revolves around the story of an elderly couple who just lost their son who was serving the military. They were in their moment of grief when a young girl selling popcorn, chocolates, etc, for a school fundraiser came knocking on their door, and that was the beginning of their lifetime connection.
With the young girl’s goal was to be the top seller, however, the elderly couple grew fond of her as she did to them. In her own unintentional way, she helped this couple recuperate with their loss. And how the twist of fate worked its magic with these individuals. I just can’t help highlighting the story of this film, my apologies for doing so, because we see a lot of films about wars, however, we tend not to focus on the battle of the families that were left behind by these heroes.
The overall quality of the film was superb, the lines were well thought, the scenery, lighting, visual effects, and plot was amazing. The actors were magnificent, there was a magical connection between the elderly couple and the young girl that made me smile and laugh along with them while watching the film at the same time a tear in my eye in every emotional scene in the movie.
This movie has a heart for families and our heroes in the military. It showed us the value of family and friends that we can hold on during these kinds of down times. It also showed us the beauty of life, no matter how difficult the challenges we may face, there still hope for a better tomorrow.
