Skaterhood
When I was young, I fancied watching kids on their skateboards. Such marvel and admiration to see them skate swiftly down the street or through an obstacle course. I am not sure if I just didn’t have the courage or the support system, me being a girl and all, to learn how to skate. That is why my heart is filled with joy after watching this short documentary by Sophia Maria Prestwich titled “Skaterhood”. I love watching this film. It was awesome and beautifully made. I like how it gave focus on these amazingly talented women and how beautiful their heart is as they advocate in teaching young girls to skate, not just for the benefit of fun, but as a way to channel their feelings and emotions. But what I love more about it is how it gave importance to motherhood and still be able to be the amazing skateboarders that they are and pass it along to their children. I had an amazing time watching this film, and I bet many would feel the same, Excellent work!
