When the press recognizes members of our armed services it is typically for a singular act of bravery focusing on the solitary act. What often goes unrecognized is how the men and women that protect our country come from various backgrounds that have shaped them into these brave people they are today. Sometimes those actions include facing their fears and trauma to get the job done in combat. The Shoebox by Inglewood Films shines a spotlight on 5 special op team members that all have tragic backstories and emotional barriers that leak through their emotional “shoebox” before bottling up these feelings to complete the mission. The Shoebox does a good job showing that these brave men are just as damaged and emotionally messed up as the rest of us. What makes them heroes is when they push through these walls to protect one another. Well done!
