Jade Gottfredson

We had the opportunity to interview local Utah based actress Jade Gottfredson with over 20 acting credits at the time of this posted interview.

What are some of the projects you have worked on in the last 12 months?

One of my favorite sets was on Fox Nation’s “Alien Abductions with Abby Hornacek”. It’s because I enjoy period pieces. I love seeing how crews transform places and people. It’s magical. I’ve been in spots produced by Chamber Media, Falter Media, and more. I got to be co-spokesperson with Wes Tolman for a series of commercials produced by VidVictory. I choreographed and danced in music videos for Liberty James, performed in 2 stage musicals, and I’ve voiced several commercials and instructional videos.

Lifestyle shoots for Camp Chef and Teton Sports were a lot of fun as well. As an actor, I won’t always get cast so I’m learning to do other jobs when it’s not my turn in front of the camera.  I’ve co-produced short films with Pepperjack Pictures, ran a successful Kickstarter to fund a short, and I’ve found that I enjoy script supervising.

Who is your favorite person on set? 

Whoever I’m working with that day becomes my new favorite. Especially when they’re patient with my shortcomings and keep working to clearly communicate their needs.

What project have you worked on that made you a better professional?

Co-producing “Fish Out of Water” has made me a better professional. I’ve been drinking out of a fire hose since June. I have so much more respect and patience for every filmmaker. A lot of work goes into every job. Each cast and crew member is vital to the success of a production. I’m taking risks and making mistakes so that I can learn and improve as fast as I can.

What advice do you have for your fellow actors or for people interested in pursuing acting as a career?

Be consistent. Keep training. Keep showing up, keep learning. Find people who support and believe in you. You need them as much as they need you. Filmmaking is a team sport. As an actor, your job is to audition. Submit your best work so that every production has the best options to choose from. The projects that are meant for you will come to you. Trust in that.
