Was there ever a time that you dreamt of being a rockstar? Well, I have so many times. Who wouldn’t enjoy life in the spotlight? The tour around the world, the popularity, the people, the concerts, and the crazy lifestyle. But is that all that there is to the life of a rock and roll star? Wouldn’t it be exciting to know more about the truth behind their life? Or probably to know a rock star up close and personal? Today’s screenplay review just fulfilled my lifelong dream of getting acquainted with a rock star, and I am sure that many of you just like me, will be enthusiastic to see this screenplay in action. The short screenplay is titled “Intro & Outro” by Steven R. Ford.

Before we dive into the story, let me give you a brief introduction about our focus writer, Steven R Ford. This amazing writer is a local talent of Utah, a former journalist, and was also a finalist for the short screenplay category during the 2019 Utah Film Festival and Awards for his wonderful screenplay “Midnight Ball”. Now he’ll let us explore more about his talent and versatility as he injects his passion for music into writing another impressive screenplay titled “Intro & Outro” The story is about a lead guitarist rock and roll star from one of the greatest bands named The Devil Dogs. Our rockstar goes by the name of Brikk Jenz, a fifty-year-old something man who still lives the mischievous life of a rockstar with all the sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Brikk is set to record his debut solo album in a studio in Los Angeles. On his way to Los Angeles, he stopped by a gas station where a girl trying to hitch a ride caught his attention. When no one else seemed to stop for the young lady, he offered her a ride.

At first, she hesitates, thinking he’s some old creep that is trying to get girls. But she really doesn’t have a choice and accepted the ride. The young lady’s name is Thalie, is a pretty young woman with purple hair who is around her early twenties. It didn’t take long before Brikk and Thalie got along. They both share a passion for music and playing the guitar. She even knows their band’s music even though it was decades ago. The long ride became a fruitful time of conversation and connection about music, the industry, and rockstar life. And Brikk and Thalie’s bond got stronger, and little did they know that they were about to discover more about each other along the way.

I am fascinated by this short screenplay by Steven R. Ford. I enjoyed reading every page of it. It got some interesting scoops about the music industry, it talks about music, and it has some unexpected twist at the end. I would be ecstatic to see this on the big screen or probably read more about it in an installment or a feature version. Because once you read about Brikk and Thalie, you’ll definitely ask for more. Indeed another amazing work from this very talented writer.
