Lip Service by Whit Ingram shows two women (AmbyrMishelle, Weixin Le) fighting violently with each other. Endless fighting without revealing the reason behind it. This short film ran for five minutes and yes, it was all fight scenes. Towards the end, a DJ tried to help by hitting one of the ladies without really knowing the whole story of the fight. In the end, the two ladies fighting was fixed. It was also then revealed that they were fighting over a lip gloss. The two ladies went away and left the DJ cleaning their mess. There are even added scenes to further make the story funnier. The ending was a total comedy bomb. And I love it!

If you think that this short film does not really have the substance of a good film, then you are totally wrong. When it said that its genre is comedy, it is INDEED comedy. It was funny from start to finish. And the highlight of the comic portion is the DJ. All of his parts in the very short film are hilarious. All the while, I was watching a short film full of fight scenes but realized that I did enjoyed it a lot!

Technically, the short film is done very well. Sound design and music score are great. Plots are simple but are perfect for the concept. The plots gave the film good pace making it excitingly funny. I liked the idea of revealing the reason of the fight towards the end. It is like a bomb dropped to put emphasis on the comic aspect of the film. Cinematography and editing are good. What I would like to commend is the actors. They did their roles brilliantly. Even if the women are just fighting in the majority of the film, they still manage to look funny and make the scenes hilarious. And yes, the DJ and his scenes carried the film. All in all, this film is light and very easy to watch. No dramatic scenes, no heavy lessons to realize, no bizarre or puzzles to solve. In other words, you just watch and enjoy. It is just plain pleasant and fun short film to watch. I could not imagine if it had more minutes to run. I wonder how the story would have been stretched or expanded.

If you want to watch something easy and fun, then I recommend Lip Service. Whit Ingram definitely did an excellent job. She gave what the viewers would like to see in a comedy film. She placed a crazy concept and it is a success. I wish to see more of this type of films where you just sit and watch and finish it with a smile. Kudos to the whole team for a masterful crazily funny short film. The five minutes of watching is truly worth it. I think making the film is as enjoyable as it is seen on the screen. I hope more people will be able to see this film and feel the enjoyment I felt while watching it.
