Jonathan Chong’s animated short film “Goodbye Home” brings an emotional and heartfelt depiction of Australia’s Black Summer. This film tells the story of how two different families manage to evacuate from the devastating bush fire. The story is beautifully depicted, particularly in the eyes of the young ones. As I watch my children see this film, I can feel their emotional connection with the story and the reality that connects with it. This film not only teaches us to be kind to all living things but also sets a reminder of the importance of the lives of all living creatures and the environment we all share to live. The animation was simple yet refined with pure intention to deliver the core message of the story. Indeed a wonderful film to watch!
